Leadership

Mike sees himself as a follower of Christ who has been called to set an example for others. He believes he is only capable of leading others because he is being led himself (I Cor. 11:1). Mike is a graduate of Ozark Christian College in Joplin, MO. He has been pastor at Westside since February 2000. Mike and his wife Laurie have four beautiful children. Matthew attended Ozark Christian College, graduating with a Bachelor of Music and Worship in 2016. He joined the Westside family in January 2016 as the part-time worship minister, and came on full-time upon his graduation that May. In February 2017 he began leading the Junior High/ High School youth. He also helps lead the children’s programming on Wednesday nights. Matthew enjoys playing any instrument he can get his hands on, playing Ultimate Frisbee and Disc Golf, and loves teaching people the Word of God. 

Laurie has been serving at Westside since 2023. Her main responsibilities are to provide support to staff and leadership as well as others who serve and worship at Westside. More of Laurie's bio coming soon.
